As Head of Product Security, you will report to the Senior Director of Product Security and lead a team of Product Security Engineers. You'll be responsible for embedding security into Harvey's engineering organization, enabling teams to build quickly and securely as the company scales.
Key responsibilities include:
- Partnering with the Senior Director of Product Security to translate broader security strategy into focused priorities and measurable outcomes for your team
- Hiring, developing, and leading Product Security Engineers, establishing clear ownership and helping them become trusted partners to engineering counterparts
- Owning your team's planning, prioritization, and delivery
- Providing technical direction on architecture reviews, threat modeling, and remediation
- Helping engineers navigate complex security tradeoffs
- Scaling team impact through automation, developer tooling, and secure-by-default patterns
- Using team learnings to improve security standards and engineering practices across Harvey
- Communicating risks and progress to engineering leaders
- Building alignment on priorities and holding the team accountable for meaningful security improvements
You'll work closely with Engineering, Product, Infrastructure, and Security teams to align security investments with business priorities and technical platform realities. The role combines people leadership with sound technical judgment to protect customers and make secure development easier across the organization.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Experience managing Product Security or Application Security engineers at a growing technology company
- Strong engineering background with deep expertise in modern application security and cloud-native architectures
- Track record of delivering security improvements through engineering, automation, and close partnership with development teams
- Experience hiring, mentoring, and developing security engineers, with focus on technical growth and clear ownership
- Ability to translate broader security goals into actionable team priorities
