Atoms is building Physical AI—real-world robots for industries including food, mining, and transport. The company integrates hardware, software, AI, operations, manufacturing, and real estate to deploy intelligent systems at scale. As Head of People Technology, you will own the strategic direction and execution of Atoms' HR technology platform, primarily Workday. Your responsibilities include: **Strategy & Roadmap**: Set the HR technology strategy by owning the Workday roadmap. Decide which modules to add or retire, which systems to integrate, and when to build in-house versus partner with implementation vendors. **New Capability Development**: Design and deliver forward-looking Workday modules and capabilities needed as the company scales globally. **System Optimization**: Audit the current Workday tenant, close configuration gaps, and drive adoption to ensure the system is trusted and actively used across the organization. **Integration Architecture**: Architect and maintain integrations between Workday and the surrounding tech stack, including recruiting, payroll providers, benefits, finance, and identity systems, using Workday Studio, EIB, Core Connectors, and APIs. **Hands-On Configuration**: Configure business processes, security, calculated fields, and reporting yourself, setting the standard for how your team builds. **Team Leadership**: Manage two lead configuration analysts in the US who run major projects, and a manager in the Philippines leading integrations and configuration support. **Platform Operations**: Own release management for Workday's biannual updates, data integrity, security, and audit readiness. Evaluate where Workday's newer AI and data capabilities can reduce manual work. This role is based in San Francisco, Los Angeles, or Seattle, with five days per week onsite required. **Requirements:** - 8+ years of HRIS experience with Workday as your primary platform (Workday experience is required) - Hands-on implementation and configuration depth, including standing up new Workday modules, not just maintaining existing setups - Built and owned integrations into Workday using Workday Studio, EIB, Core Connectors, and APIs - Experience growing HR systems through real scale, supporting companies from hundreds to thousands of employees, ideally across multiple countries - Career blending implementation consulting or partner-side work with in-house roles, ideally at both large organizations and high-growth companies - Led a team including distributed or offshore members; comfortable directing implementation partners - Ability to go deep on configuration and hold your own in strategy conversations with senior leaders - Workday Pro certifications are a strong plus
