Andercore is an AI-native supplier of industrial materials for energy, infrastructure, and construction across seven European markets. The company operates a platform that automates global trade and distribution—sourcing, quality, pricing, sales, logistics, and embedded financing—replacing traditional multi-intermediary supply chains. Recently closed a $40M Series B (raising $75M total from Atomico, Project A, Inven Capital, and institutional bank financing), with 80+ employees across Berlin HQ, London, Mumbai, and Shanghai offices.
The company's second growth path is acquisition-led: buying established industrial distribution businesses in the EUR 20–40M revenue range, keeping owners and management in place, and connecting them to Andercore's platform, procurement, financing, and AI stack. Currently three deals are live, two near signature, with a target of ~five closures per year from a mapped universe of ~200 targets.
You own post-close integration and value creation. Your mandate begins the day a company joins Andercore and ends when it operates better than before. These are analog, owner-led, profitable, growing businesses at their operational limit. Your role is to diagnose on the ground whether Andercore's platform, purchasing power, credit facilities, and automation can unlock further growth—and then make it happen with the management team, not to them.
Key responsibilities:
**Holding Management from Day 1:** Establish access to accounting and financials with monthly reporting on a unified framework across all acquired entities. Set baselines for revenue, margin, working capital, cash, and concentration risk. Execute commitments made during due diligence and establish the operating rhythm for the first 100 days. Manage the portfolio as a financial participation; protect growth and prevent deterioration.
**On-the-Ground Diagnosis:** Spend real time inside acquired businesses to understand their true state. Map connection points across procurement, pricing, inventory, sales, logistics, financing, ERP, and reporting. Test integration theses against reality, quantify what works, kill what doesn't, and report findings to the CEO quickly.
**Value Creation:** Sequence and land levers with management teams—central procurement, credit and working-capital facilities, pricing optimization, sales productivity, customer intelligence, back-office automation. Decide with the CEO what centralizes, what remains entrepreneurial, and what flows both directions (several acquired companies outperform on specific functions). Track every lever against the original investment case in euros.
**Owner and Management Relationship:** Operate as a peer to owner-managers who built EUR 30M+ businesses. Credibility comes from operating experience, not frameworks. Be the voice that checks whether things are as described and speaks uncomfortable truths while keeping the CEO as the partner. Manage expectations: Andercore is not a service provider solving the acquired company's problems for it.
**Playbook and Team:** Codify integration into repeatable capability—Day-1 checklist, reporting standard, diagnostic framework, lever library, 100-day plan. Make the fourth acquisition faster than the first, then build and lead the team running integrations in parallel.
**What This Role Is Not:** Not M&A origination, valuation, LOI, or SPA (CEO and senior M&A advisor own that). Not a PMO sending 400-line integration plans with traffic lights. Not a consulting engagement measured on analysis quality. Not a corporate integration role imposing hierarchical decisions. Not inheriting an existing process—you build it.
**Requirements:**
- 8–12 years of experience as an operator from private equity value-creation or portfolio operations teams, or as a generalist from strategy and transformation with substantial time inside operating companies.
- At least one completed integration or post-close situation you personally carried, with a specific knotty problem you solved and why it worked (you will be asked this story in the first interview).
- Operating substance: direct experience in procurement, pricing, supply chain, finance, or sales of a real company, not just adjacent to it.
- Comfort with highly intelligent, rough-around-the-edges entrepreneurs who hold significant assets inside their companies.
- People work as roughly half the job: influence without formal authority, since acquired managing directors did not sign up to be managed.
- Strong observational skills: ability to read businesses and people quickly and accurately.
- Fluent German and English (German is not optional; these conversations happen in German).
- Fluency with modern AI tooling and instinct to automate your own work (you do not need to be an engineer).
- No requirement for PMI certifications; the company prefers operators who think rather than those trained to fill in lists.
**Success Metrics (12 months):**
- Every acquired entity reports monthly on one framework with fixed close and accounting access.
- Each acquisition's integration thesis validated or killed with numbers within 90 days of closing.
- Acquired businesses continue growing; no customer, supplier, or key person lost to transaction.
- First value-creation levers live with measurable P&L impact in euros.
- Documented playbook exists; next integration starts faster than the last.
Over time, you own integration and value creation for the whole group at a pace of several acquisitions per year and build the team delivering it.
