iCapital is seeking a sales-focused executive to lead its Japan market expansion as Head of Japan and Client Solutions. Reporting to the Head of Asia Pacific, you will build and drive iCapital's strategy and growth in one of the world's largest wealth markets, establishing the company's institutional-quality private markets platform with Japanese investors.
You will lead the local Japan team, providing business and cultural leadership while partnering with regional and global colleagues on hiring, development, and retention. Key responsibilities include formulating and executing Japan's business strategy, leading business development across securities firms, trust banks, gatekeepers, independent financial advisors, platforms, asset managers, and GPs. You will shape how iCapital's platform is positioned with each market segment and adapt product, positioning, and commercial terms to local market practice.
You will build and own senior client relationships, leading complex multi-stakeholder negotiations from initial contact through signed agreements, onboarding, and first allocations. Market education is critical—you will provide thought leadership on private markets and alternatives in Japan, translating iCapital's platform capabilities for advisors, gatekeepers, and distribution partners.
Additional responsibilities include owning the Japan revenue pipeline end-to-end, representing iCapital at industry conferences and client forums, presenting country strategy and business performance to regional and global stakeholders, and engaging with Japanese regulators and industry bodies to ensure compliance and favorable positioning as the regulatory landscape evolves.
You will work in the Tokyo office four days per week with one day of remote flexibility (Fridays).
