Valarian Technologies is a dual-use technology company building critical infrastructure to address evolving global security challenges. The company develops Acra, a platform foundation providing infrastructure-agnostic secure enclaves to protect critical data for government and commercial organizations. Use cases include operational resiliency for mission-critical systems, intellectual property protection during technology adoption, secure information flow in disaster response, and zero-trust environments for sensitive communications and M&A activities.
As Head of Information Security (Deputy CISO), you will take full ownership of Valarian's internal security posture, enterprise risk framework, and product compliance. This role is ideal for a Senior Security Manager, Architect, or Director stepping into their first CISO-level leadership position.
Key responsibilities include:
• Design and execute Valarian's Zero-Trust security roadmap, policies, and risk assessments; provide executive reporting to leadership and the board
• Own end-to-end audit readiness for enterprise and defense frameworks including SOC 2 Type II, ISO 27001, Cyber Essentials Plus, and NIST 800-53
• Embed DevSecOps and secure SDLC practices into CI/CD pipelines; oversee penetration testing, red teaming, and threat modeling across core infrastructure
• Serve as technical security authority in high-stakes customer procurement reviews, vendor risk assessments (DDQs), and defense customer evaluations
• Build and manage internal incident response capabilities, continuous monitoring, vulnerability management, and employee security awareness programs
You will embed security into the engineering culture, maintain customer trust, and ensure full compliance across global enterprise and defense standards. This is a collaborative, high-performing environment focused on creating cutting-edge software, platforms, and infrastructure with tangible impact on global security.
