Snowflake seeks a Head of Global Government Affairs to own and scale the company's government relations function at the enterprise level. Reporting directly to the Office of the CEO, you will set global GA strategy, lead a geographically dispersed senior team, and manage an external portfolio of retained lobbyists, trade associations, and advisory firms across three major regions.
This is a strategic business-growth role at the intersection of technology policy, public affairs, and regulated-market commerce. You will shape Snowflake's positioning in national security, defense, intelligence, and sovereign cloud markets—originating and closing long-cycle opportunities alongside Sales while simultaneously influencing policy frameworks before they crystallize. You will serve as GA lead on 2–3 major regulated pursuits concurrently, providing political context, stakeholder access, and direct C-suite engagement.
Key responsibilities include: owning Snowflake's global GA strategy and annual priorities; leading and holding accountable a senior global team and external advisor network; directing the federal lobbying program (agenda-setting, lobbyist performance management, personal advocacy on critical matters); tracking and prioritizing policy developments in AI governance, data sovereignty, federal IT procurement, and cloud security; representing Snowflake at major government and technology forums (AFCEA, DSEI, RSA, Aspen Security Forum); producing board-ready policy briefs and strategic narratives; and overseeing the Ambassador Program and political contribution strategy.
Required: 15+ years in government, government affairs, public policy, national security, strategic business development, or international affairs with meaningful technology-sector focus. You must have deep expertise in US federal legislative and regulatory processes, EU digital policy (AI Act, Data Act, GDPR), and at least one additional major jurisdiction. You need a senior-level global network across US federal government (Congress, Executive Branch, DoD/IC), at least one major international market, and key industry/policy organizations. Proven track record originating and shaping long-cycle opportunities in regulated markets (sovereign cloud, national security, defense). Experience directing retained lobbyists and managing external advisory portfolios. Demonstrated people leadership of geographically dispersed senior teams in matrixed environments. Executive presence with heads of state, cabinet officials, C-suite, General/Flag officers, and Members of Congress. Exceptional communication skills (board-ready briefs, talking points, intelligence summaries). Working knowledge of AI governance, data sovereignty, federal cloud procurement, and security frameworks (FedRAMP, DoD IL4/IL5/IL6, ITAR, EU AI Act, GDPR, NIS2, NATO accreditation, Protected-B).
Preferred: Corporate PAC program experience; background in federal IT procurement, PubSec, or defense contracting; APAC policy exposure (Japan, Australia, Singapore); Intelligence Community or national security experience; active US, UK, or NATO Secret clearance.
