Klaviyo is seeking a Head of Global Compensation to lead the design and evolution of their compensation strategy as the company scales. Reporting to the VP of Total Rewards, you will own the full spectrum of compensation work: building global compensation philosophy and job architecture, designing equity and long-term incentive programs, managing multi-year equity models and budgets, and serving as a strategic business partner to people leaders on hiring, retention, and organizational decisions.
Key responsibilities include:
**Compensation Strategy & Architecture**: Lead the evolution of global compensation philosophy, job architecture, leveling, and pay structures. Design fair, market-competitive programs that reinforce Klaviyo's builder culture, reward ownership and impact, and differentiate exceptional performance. Extend compensation frameworks into new markets while balancing global consistency with local market realities. Help shape the broader Total Rewards strategy.
**Equity & Long-Term Rewards**: Own equity compensation strategy including new-hire grants, refresh programs, and retention approaches. Manage multi-year equity models and budgets, considering burn rate, dilution, and future investment needs. Partner with Finance and senior leadership on performance, retention, and financial sustainability tradeoffs. Shape senior leadership compensation strategy and support Compensation Committee governance.
**Strategic Business Partnership**: Serve as a trusted advisor to people leaders on critical hiring decisions, retention challenges, and compensation investments. Navigate complex decisions with sound judgment and creativity. Partner with Talent Acquisition to ensure compensation supports talent attraction. Translate complex concepts into clear, actionable recommendations.
**Team Leadership**: Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing compensation team. Stay close to the work, bringing your own expertise to complex challenges. Establish clear priorities, accountability, and operating rhythms. Rethink how compensation work gets done using technology, automation, and AI.
Success means building a clear, fair, market-competitive global compensation strategy; creating sustainable equity and compensation investment models; establishing a function that leaders trust for strategic guidance; and developing an exceptional team that operates at a new level.
