LeafLink is seeking a Head of Engineering to lead the entire engineering organization. This is a VP-level role reporting directly to executive leadership, responsible for building and scaling the engineering org, setting technical vision and architecture, and ensuring reliable software delivery across all engineering functions.
Key responsibilities include: translating company and product objectives into a 1-3 year engineering plan and organizational structure; recruiting, developing, and retaining top engineering talent; setting engineering-wide standards for planning, estimation, and delivery; establishing metrics, operating rhythms, and governance for executive visibility; managing technical architecture, infrastructure, security, and technical debt; improving velocity while reducing risk; partnering with product and business stakeholders on roadmap priorities; managing the engineering budget including headcount and cloud costs; establishing company-wide practices for code quality, testing, CI/CD, and incident response; owning SOC 2 and security/compliance posture; creating feedback loops and continuous improvement mechanisms; and building sustainable engineering culture as the org scales.
The role involves working with modern technologies including containerized and serverless design patterns, Python, Kubernetes, AWS-managed and self-hosted services, third-party integrations, and event-driven and distributed architectures. You'll also champion AI and LLM-powered code generation to reimagine how services are built and operated at scale.
