Salary: GBP 122,000 - 135,000 / annual
Genesis Global builds AI-ready software exclusively for capital markets, delivering tailored solutions on a standardized architecture that accelerates AI integration with financial guardrails. The company combines deep capital markets expertise with decades of experience operating mission-critical systems.
You will own the platforms, infrastructure, and delivery pipelines that enable Genesis to ship software securely and reliably for clients—from development through production systems. This is a senior leadership role with global scope, spanning regional DevOps teams across multiple regions (including Bangalore). You will report to the Executive Vice President of Engineering, build and lead the DevOps function, establish standards that all engineering teams adopt, and be accountable for the reliability, security, and cost transparency of a large, multi-region cloud estate.
Key responsibilities include:
- Owning and evolving DevOps strategy, translating it into a business-aligned roadmap
- Owning shared cloud infrastructure, tooling, and delivery pipelines used by all engineering teams
- Building and leading a multi-region DevOps function, bringing all regions to agreed standards
- Ensuring infrastructure meets security and compliance requirements (e.g., SOC 2) and providing audit evidence
- Providing the business with clear, reliable visibility into infrastructure costs attributed by client and project
- Building a self-service platform enabling engineering teams to provision, build, and ship independently
- Line-managing and growing your team, including hiring as the function scales
- Leading incident response and post-incident reviews for shared infrastructure issues
You will stay technical enough to credibly review architecture and make sound decisions, but this is fundamentally a leadership role focused on multiplying team output rather than shipping code yourself. Some travel is expected, including occasional visits to the Bangalore team, but not extended periods away from home.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Senior leadership experience owning a DevOps or platform function, ideally spanning multiple teams or regions
- Proven track record of line-managing engineers with real accountability for their performance and development
- Strong technical judgment to assess whether team architecture is correct and raise concerns early
- Significant hands-on background building and running large-scale production systems on AWS and/or GCP (networking, IAM, compute, managed Kubernetes, CI/CD, infrastructure-as-code)
- Experience running a cloud estate subject to external audit (e.g., SOC 2) with real cost visibility for the business
- Clear communication skills; comfortable explaining architectural trade-offs to technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Familiarity with containerization and Kubernetes at a level where you can credibly review team architecture decisions
NICE TO HAVE:
- Experience leading a DevOps or platform function across multiple countries or regions
- Background in client-facing or regulated services environments
- AWS Certified DevOps Engineer or AWS Certified Solutions Architect certifications
