Overwolf is seeking an experienced Head of Development to lead Tebex's technical organization through its next growth phase. Reporting to the Head of Technology, you will manage 15–20 developers organized through five direct-report lead developers, setting technical direction and execution standards across the platform.
Tebex is a monetization platform serving thousands of game studios and in-game creators. The core platform currently runs on PHP/Laravel and Vue.js, and you'll play a key role in modernizing the stack—including evaluating and executing a Node.js pilot program to expand the technical toolkit, improve hiring flexibility, and future-proof the engineering ecosystem.
Your responsibilities include:
- Leading and mentoring a distributed engineering team, balancing high-level technical vision with day-to-day execution
- Bridging strategy and delivery: unblocking teams without micromanaging, maintaining startup velocity while scaling robustness and security
- Shaping development practices, collaboration models, and delivery processes as headcount and platform complexity grow
- Guiding the team's adoption of AI-enabled workflows and tooling, positioning AI as a practical multiplier across the development cycle
- Executing platform modernization initiatives while preserving the high-velocity startup culture that has driven growth
You are a hands-on technical leader comfortable with architectural complexity and people-focused leadership. You thrive in scaling organizations, can make pragmatic technology choices, and understand how to evolve a platform without losing momentum. Experience with PHP/Laravel, Vue.js, or Node.js ecosystems is valuable; more importantly, you have a track record of leading engineering teams through significant technical transitions.
This is a remote role based in the UK; you must be UK-based and eligible to work full-time.
