Elliptic is seeking a Head of Compliance Product to lead the product strategy and execution for its core compliance portfolio. This is a player-coach role reporting to the VP of Product, combining people leadership with hands-on product ownership.
You will own the vision, strategy, and roadmap for Elliptic's compliance products—spanning wallet and transaction screening, continuous monitoring, on-chain investigations, and risk configuration. A major focus is leading the product side of an agentic compliance program, building AI capabilities that make compliance work faster and more efficient while maintaining auditability and explainability.
Key responsibilities include:
- Defining the product strategy as AI reshapes compliance workflows, positioning Elliptic to win an emerging category
- Leading and growing a team of product managers, with deliberate talent development as a core output
- Staying obsessively close to customers through design partnerships, analyst shadowing, and internal dogfooding
- Ruthlessly prioritizing between zero-to-one innovation and supporting products customers depend on today
- Executing with rigor, raising both velocity and quality, owning outcomes rather than shipping dates
- Personally owning some of the hardest problems on the roadmap alongside team leadership
This is explicitly NOT a compliance officer role (you build products for compliance teams, not run compliance programs), NOT a caretaker role (the mandate is reinvention of successful core products), and NOT management-only (you do hands-on product work).
The product organization is centered in London with growing US presence.
REQUIREMENTS:
- 10+ years building software products, including leading and developing product managers
- Proven zero-to-one track record: taking an ambiguous problem in a complex domain from nothing to a product real users depend on
- Depth in financial crime compliance from the product side (transaction monitoring, screening, KYC/EDD, investigations), built inside an exchange, bank, fintech, or compliance technology company
- Working knowledge of crypto and blockchain; deep blockchain analytics experience is a strong plus
- AI-native: AI embedded in daily work and product building, with shipped AI/agentic capabilities to production; AI must have materially changed how you build product in the last two years
- Deep executional rigor: breaking complex problems into shippable steps, sweating quality details, reliably delivering
- High self-sufficiency: finding high-value opportunities independently, creating clarity, comfortable with broad remit
- Continuous systems thinking: identifying repeatable systems behind one-off fixes, building team leverage
- Data-informed operating style: instrumenting what you ship, arguing from evidence, changing direction based on data
- Judgment under ambiguity: knowing which decisions to make fast versus hold open when precedent doesn't exist
- Comfort in regulated, high-stakes environments: treating trust, explainability, and defensibility as features
