Ditto is a dating service for college students that operates via iMessage, live at 733 US colleges with 176,000+ students. The Head of Community Operations is a founding leadership role reporting directly to the CEO, responsible for building and scaling the on-the-ground growth engine through a distributed ambassador network. Key responsibilities include owning the ambassador program end-to-end: recruiting and training ambassadors across campuses, designing playbooks for what successful ambassador weeks look like, tracking performance and attribution, and managing compensation and incentives. You'll build communication infrastructure (community channels, weekly syncs, content) to support a remote network of student ambassadors. You'll also own the campus launch playbook, executing repeatable processes for entering new schools from first hire to healthy signup velocity. This includes managing the weekly operating cadence (targets, poster distribution, tabling, referral pushes, calendar timing), coordinating with marketing on campus-specific content, and managing the physical logistics (printing, shipping, merch, budgets). Operationally, you'll be the voice of students inside Ditto—gathering feedback from ambassadors and routing insights to product, matching, and support. You'll build operational tooling (CRM, launch checklists, dashboards, budget tracking) and partner with ops on the Wednesday match cycle. As the program scales, you'll hire and manage a team of regional leads, campus managers, and community coordinators. You bring 4+ years in community, campus marketing, field operations, or growth at consumer companies, with 1-2 years managing distributed networks of part-time reps or ambassadors. You've launched in new markets and turned it into repeatable playbooks. You're deeply comfortable with college students, understand campus information flow, and can tell which ideas will land authentically. You're operationally rigorous, strong at async communication, comfortable holding budgets and building dashboards, and ideally have experience with referral-driven or word-of-mouth acquisition channels.
