Kela Technologies is a defense technology startup developing next-generation command & control and data infrastructure systems. The company empowers defense organizations with robust, scalable, and secure platforms that integrate diverse sensors and AI to deliver real-time battlefield intelligence.
As Head of Commercial & Contracts, you will own the full commercial lifecycle of deals from initial RFP response through contract execution and post-signature delivery. This is a senior role reporting to the executive team, positioned at the intersection of business development and commercial execution.
Key responsibilities include:
- Lead end-to-end commercial processes: proposal submission, tender response, negotiation, and contract execution
- Draft, review, and negotiate commercial agreements, MOUs, and government contracts
- Own pricing strategies and commercial models for different deal structures (licensing, platform fees, hardware)
- Serve as primary commercial representative in customer-facing negotiations with defense organizations and government entities
- Work cross-functionally with Sales, Legal, Finance, and Product teams to structure deals for successful delivery
- Monitor contract milestones, manage payment collection, and oversee post-signature execution
- Build and maintain scalable commercial frameworks and processes as the company scales
Required qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience in contract management, commercial roles, or business development within the defense industry
- Proven track record leading complex commercial processes end-to-end from RFI/RFP through closing
- Experience negotiating with defense customers and government procurement bodies
- Strong command of contract structures, pricing methodologies, and commercial frameworks
- Ability to work cross-functionally and influence without direct authority
- Fluent English (written and verbal)
Preferred: Israeli defense industry experience, exposure to international defense markets and global procurement processes, high-growth startup experience.
