Upway is a fast-growing marketplace for refurbished e-bikes, having refurbished over 100,000 units in three years with plans to reach 1 million by 2030. The company's mission is to make e-mobility accessible while building the largest and highest-quality e-bike range through sourcing and reconditioning. As Head of Business Development - US, you will lead the B2B Sourcing team responsible for securing high-quality second-hand e-bikes from professional partners across the country. This is a pivotal role driving Upway's growth and platform expansion. Key responsibilities include: • Build, coach, and lead a high-performing B2B sourcing team, establishing strong management practices and coaching culture. • Unlock and develop key retail partners and buying groups through effective negotiation and long-term partnership building, fostering commercial relationships that drive sustainable growth. • Define comprehensive B2B sourcing strategy for the US market, including bike shop portfolio management, partner tiering, allocation frameworks, and field cadence. • Own and optimize team performance by tracking and improving KPIs such as bikes sourced, portfolio growth, and activity rates. • Lead deployment of new partner collaboration opportunities (pickup, dropoff, maintenance services) and co-design partner communications including newsletters and point-of-sale materials. • Design and implement scalable sales processes, CRM workflows, and operational frameworks to support team efficiency. Required qualifications: • 4+ years of B2B Sales or Business Development experience. Sales DNA from FMCG, SaaS, or field sales backgrounds valued; cycling industry experience is a plus. • 2+ years of management experience or demonstrated ability to step into a leadership role with strong management principles and coaching capability. • Strategic mindset with ability to structure and prioritize team efforts using quantitative and qualitative insights. • Willingness to travel 25% of the time across the US, with higher frequency in the first six months ("Road Warrior" mentality). • Native-level English proficiency; Spanish is a plus. • Genuine passion for cycling and bikes; authentic enthusiasm essential for building trust with industry partners and peers.
