Smava is one of Germany's largest fintech companies, operating as an online credit comparison platform serving over 300,000 customers. The company is reshaping the consumer lending market by making credit transparent, fair, and affordable.
As Head of Banking, you will lead the banking partnership strategy and operations for Smava's marketplace. You will manage all banking-related functions, including partner relationship management, commercial negotiations, credit product development, and KPI performance. You will serve as the central point of contact for partner banks and internal stakeholders, including the C-suite and cross-functional departments.
Key responsibilities include:
- Overseeing all banking partnerships and managing the supply side of the credit comparison marketplace
- Leading and developing the Banking Team with both disciplinary and functional authority
- Conducting strategic and commercial negotiations with partner banks
- Building and expanding your network within the banking sector, establishing trusted relationships and managing difficult conversations
- Driving the evolution of Smava's credit product offerings by monitoring the German financial and credit market, identifying opportunities for new banking products, and executing operational improvements with your team
- Monitoring KPIs and performance metrics, deriving action plans for bank management, and developing new revenue and business development models in close collaboration with the CEO and C-level executives
You bring strong commercial acumen with the ability to interpret KPIs, business cases, and revenue dynamics. You have relevant professional experience and success in banking, fintech, business development, or consulting contexts. You hold a business administration degree or equivalent qualifications. You possess excellent negotiation skills, can read between the lines, and think in long-term strategic terms. You have experience managing and developing talent. You are a generalist with strong analytical ability, capable of making informed decisions with incomplete information and presenting clear recommendations to leadership. You are extroverted, a natural networker, and enjoy building business relationships through personal meetings and direct engagement. You are comfortable with flexible work arrangements and willing to travel for partner bank meetings. You are fluent in German (native level) and English.
