Salary: USD 310,000 - 400,000 / annual

As Head of AI Platform Engineering, you will lead the strategic alignment of AI development with Postman's growing API platform, driving the AI roadmap with focus on expanding AI-driven API collaboration and agentic capabilities.
You will own the development and execution of Postman's AI platform strategy, concentrating on API ecosystem growth, platform innovation, and intelligent agent functionality. Key responsibilities include identifying and capitalizing on market opportunities for AI-enhanced API collaboration, driving the AI roadmap with emphasis on API integration and platform expansion, and overseeing implementation with core AI platforms (OpenAI, Anthropic, AWS, etc.) to ensure technical and strategic alignment.
You'll collaborate closely with business units, product teams, engineering, and external partners to ensure alignment and successful deployment of AI initiatives. The role requires mentoring and inspiring internal teams and external collaborators to embrace AI innovation in API contexts, as well as evaluating emerging AI technologies to continuously enhance platform capabilities.
You bring proven leadership experience managing AI or platform teams, preferably in API-centric or developer platform companies. You have a strong technical background in AI, machine learning, and API platforms with hands-on experience developing or integrating AI-driven APIs or agents. Deep understanding of API ecosystems, platform strategy, and partner dynamics is essential. You demonstrate ability to lead cross-functional teams and coordinate complex projects involving product, engineering, partnerships, and marketing, with excellent communication skills for both technical and non-technical audiences. Passion for AI safety, ethical AI development, and building scalable, user-centric platforms is valued.
Preferred experience includes working in or with API developer tools, SaaS ecosystems, or AI agent platforms; background in product strategy or technical partner management related to AI and cloud platforms; and a strong network in AI and API partner communities.
