As Head of AI Ops, you will own the AIgent Hub as a product, defining its vision, roadmap, and ensuring it becomes a critical daily tool for the organization. You'll manage the agent portfolio strategically—deciding what to build, buy, or kill—and maintain sufficient technical depth to challenge the AI Ops tech lead on implementation decisions. You'll own AI compliance and cost management, selecting appropriate frameworks and models while maintaining quality, permissions, and budget control as the platform scales.
You will lead and animate the engineering team contributing to the AIgent Hub, setting technical ambition and ensuring the roadmap scales across the company. You'll bring vision to the existing AI Ops team, leveraging your expertise to guide their work and shape priorities. You'll stay ahead of AI developments and use that knowledge to set the team's direction and maintain high standards.
Driving agent-first transformation across Pelico is central to the role. You'll work with Ops, Sales, People, Finance, Customer, and Engineering teams to make daily agent use the norm. You'll set up self-service tools enabling non-technical team members to build and own their own agents, and suggest relevant trainings.
You'll deep-dive into daily workflows to identify where AI creates genuine business impact, define KPIs that prove ROI, and guide build/buy/kill decisions on the agent portfolio. You'll present business value clearly to the C-suite and represent AI strategy across Pelico.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Strong curiosity about AI direction with ability to bring ideas and tools, not just execution
- Ability to deep-dive into team workflows and identify where AI moves the needle
- Strong communicator comfortable working across functions and aligning teams
- Solid grasp of the agentic landscape (orchestration, build-vs-buy decisions) with enough depth to prioritize and hold your own with technical leads
- Hands-on experience with AI-assisted workflows including writing, research, and coding
- Working knowledge of RAG, MCP, function calling, and prompt-injection/security
- Experience in a startup or fast-moving environment
