K2 Space is building the largest and highest-power satellites ever flown, backed by $450M in funding from leading investors including Altimeter Capital, Redpoint Ventures, and T. Rowe Price. The company is mass-producing next-generation satellite platforms designed to operate across LEO, MEO, GEO, and deep space orbits, with multiple launches planned through 2026 and 2027. As a Harness Design Engineer, you will serve as the Responsible Engineer for harness and wiring system design across K2's Mega and Giga satellite platforms. Your primary responsibilities include designing, analyzing, and releasing harness systems for bus avionics, mechanisms, RF systems, and payloads. You will define interface control documents for avionics boxes and bulkheads, optimize system diagrams and schematics, and create production-ready CAD drawings and technical documentation. You will drive design trades to reduce cost and mass while increasing integration rate, selecting harness components such as connectors, contacts, wire/cable, shield braid, heaters, and RTDs. Collaboration is central to the role—you'll work closely with cross-functional teams including manufacturing engineering, technicians, and systems engineers to establish production test requirements and support vehicle avionics integration for high-rate production and constellation launch cadence. In your first two years, you will have the opportunity to qualify hardware for flight, complete avionics integration on satellite buses, and see your designs fly through intense radiation environments across multiple orbital regimes. This is a hands-on role at a rapidly scaling aerospace company where your work directly impacts mission-critical systems on some of the most powerful satellites ever built.
