Plus One Robotics is seeking a Hardware Test Engineer to join its QA team at the San Antonio headquarters. This is a mid-to-senior level position focused on ensuring the quality and reliability of hardware and software products through rigorous testing and system-level thinking.
You will develop and execute comprehensive hardware testing processes for new and existing products, creating detailed test plans and test cases. Your responsibilities include capturing and analyzing test data, identifying and documenting bugs, and presenting QA findings to stakeholders including customers, leadership, and cross-functional teams. You will serve as a customer advocate, engaging directly with clients about product performance and reliability.
The role involves hands-on work with electro-mechanical systems, including assisting in the design and build of test fixtures. You will work closely with developers, engineers, and product managers to understand issues and their root causes. Additionally, you will mentor interns and junior team members, sharing QA best practices and providing technical guidance.
Required qualifications include a bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or similar field, with 3-5 years of hardware test engineering experience covering both hardware and software testing. You must be comfortable with system-level thinking across software, electrical, and mechanical subsystems. Familiarity with C++, Python, or TypeScript is required. Excellent analytical skills, attention to detail, and strong communication abilities are essential, as you will present technical data to both technical and non-technical audiences.
This is an onsite position with some travel required for customer site visits and product deployments. The work environment includes exposure to robots, moving mechanical parts, and vibration. You must have reliable transportation and a valid driver's license.
