Anduril Industries, a defense technology company, is seeking a Hardware Test Engineer to join the Manufacturing team within the Electromagnetic Warfare division. The role focuses on ensuring rigorous testing of cutting-edge defense hardware and maintaining production throughput while driving continuous improvement in testing methodologies.
Key responsibilities include:
- Owning test activities in production, providing hands-on troubleshooting for complex electrical issues
- Maintaining test capabilities across the manufacturing value stream, from system-level checkouts to component-level validation
- Improving and sustaining existing test systems to enhance automation, consistency, cycle time, and test coverage
- Creating clear test work instructions for technician teams and providing equipment training
- Developing failure mode libraries with troubleshooting guides for rapid issue resolution
- Performing root cause and corrective action analysis (RCCA) on product failures
- Collaborating with Design, Quality, and Manufacturing Engineering teams on customer returns and failure analysis
- Contributing feedback to early-stage test design for new product introduction (NPI)
- Analyzing test data and generating detailed reports to identify defects and improvement opportunities
- Optimizing test strategies for efficiency without compromising quality
- Maintaining and calibrating test equipment for precision and reliability
- Supporting continuous improvement initiatives
Required qualifications include a Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Electronics, Computer, Mechanical Engineering, or related field, plus 5+ years of manufacturing test and product sustainment experience. Technical proficiency required in Linux, Ubuntu, LabVIEW, and NixOS. Must have hands-on experience with PCBA/electronic assembly testing, familiarity with standard test equipment (oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, power supplies, data acquisition systems), and strong root cause analysis skills. Experience with PLM systems, MES, and TES is essential. Candidates must be eligible to obtain and maintain a U.S. Secret security clearance.
