Arista Networks is seeking a Hardware NPI (New Product Introduction) / Debug Engineer to bridge design engineering and manufacturing for next-generation data center networking hardware. This role offers hands-on leadership of early prototype builds, working with high-density PCBs, advanced ASICs, optical interconnects, and sophisticated thermal management systems spanning from compact 1RU switches to massive modular chassis.
You will take ownership of end-to-end prototype development in partnership with Hardware, Manufacturing, and Test Engineering teams, with the goal of rapidly maturing designs and manufacturing processes to deliver field-trial-ready units for strategic customers. You'll drive Design for Excellence (DFM, DFT, DFQ, DFR) by actively reviewing schematics and layouts, translating real-world NPI findings into more robust product generations. The role emphasizes systems-level debugging and root-cause analysis to establish technical foundations for future senior engineering roles.
Key responsibilities include leading complex system repairs and diagnostics, establishing tools and processes for production quality, and driving continuous improvement through cross-functional collaboration with internal Engineering and Platform Design teams. You will also mentor Contract Manufacturing (CM) partners to uphold high-proficiency production and quality standards. This is positioned as a fast-track opportunity to develop expertise in hardware development, manufacturing, test, and product engineering functions within the AI data center switching fabric space.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) required; Master's degree (MSEE) strongly desired
- 4 to 8 years of experience in Hardware, NPI, Sustaining, and/or Test Engineering within Networking, AI, GPU, or Computing industries
- Expertise in system-level debugging, root cause analysis, and proficiency with lab equipment (oscilloscopes, logic analyzers)
- Knowledge of industry manufacturing standards (IPC, JEDEC) and experience with complex fab structures (VIPPO, backdrill) and electro/mechanical systems
- Mechanical aptitude highly desirable
- Must be passport ready and able to travel to CM sites within Asia and USA
- English fluency required; Malay and/or Vietnamese fluency desired
- Technical ability to interpret schematics, board layout files, mechanical drawings, and datasheets
- Ability to read command-line logs and diagnostics independently
- Self-starting mindset with proactive leadership and strong teamwork/communication skills
