Arista Networks is seeking a Hardware NPI (New Product Introduction) / Debug Engineer to bridge design engineering and manufacturing for next-generation data center networking hardware. This is a hands-on technical role focused on prototype development, manufacturing process optimization, and systems-level debugging.
You will own end-to-end prototype builds in partnership with Hardware, Manufacturing, and Test Engineering teams, with the goal of rapidly maturing designs and manufacturing processes to deliver field trial-ready units for strategic customers. The role involves leading complex root-cause analysis and system repairs on high-density PCBs, advanced interconnects, high-performance ASICs, and sophisticated thermal management solutions spanning from compact 1RU switches to massive modular chassis.
Key responsibilities include:
- Taking ownership of early prototype builds and driving rapid design maturation
- Influencing product design through Design for Excellence (DFM, DFT, DFQ, DFR) by reviewing schematics and layouts
- Leading systems debug and root-cause analysis to establish technical foundations for future senior roles
- Driving continuous improvement through cross-functional partnerships with internal Engineering and Platform Design teams
- Mentoring Contract Manufacturing (CM) partners to uphold production and quality standards
- Interpreting schematics, board layout files, mechanical drawings, and datasheets to diagnose marginal design issues
- Reading command-line logs and diagnostics to navigate early-stage technical hurdles
- Collaborating with remote and HQ engineers while managing and training factory-level technical staff
This role offers a fast track to understanding core products in AI data center switching fabric and the processes necessary to fabricate, manufacture, and test these systems. It represents a tremendous hands-on opportunity to grow into roles in hardware development, manufacturing, test, and/or product engineering.
Requirements:
- BSEE degree required; MSEE degree strongly desired
- 4 to 8 years of experience in Hardware, NPI, Sustaining, and/or Test Engineering within Networking, AI, GPU, or Computing industries
- Expertise in system-level debugging, root cause analysis, and proficiency with lab equipment (oscilloscopes, logic analyzers)
- Knowledge of industry manufacturing standards (IPC, JEDEC) and experience with complex Fab structures (VIPPO, backdrill) and electro/mechanical systems
- Must be passport ready and able to travel to CM sites within Asia and USA
- English fluency required; Malay and/or Vietnamese fluency desired
- Mechanical aptitude highly desirable
