Arista Networks is seeking a Hardware NPI (New Product Introduction) / Debug Engineer to bridge design engineering and manufacturing for next-generation data center networking hardware. This hybrid role offers a fast-track opportunity to develop expertise across hardware development, manufacturing, test, and product engineering functions.
You will own end-to-end prototype builds in partnership with Hardware, Manufacturing, and Test Engineering teams, with the goal of rapidly maturing designs and manufacturing processes to deliver field trial-ready units for strategic customers. Key responsibilities include leading complex root-cause analysis and system repairs, driving Design for Excellence (DFM, DFT, DFQ, DFR) through active reviews of schematics and layouts, and translating real-world NPI findings into more robust product generations.
You will build deep systems-thinking skills by working with Arista's diverse product portfolio—from compact 1RU switches to massive modular chassis—that integrate high-density PCBs, advanced interconnects, high-performance ASICs, and sophisticated thermal management solutions. The role demands precision handling of intricate optical and flyover cable assemblies and exceptional technical acumen to manage complexities in next-generation networking hardware.
You will drive continuous improvement through close cross-functional partnerships with internal Engineering and Platform Design teams, while mentoring Contract Manufacturing (CM) partners in Vietnam, Malaysia, and Mexico to uphold high-proficiency production and quality standards. This position requires frequent international travel to CM sites.
Arista Networks is an industry leader in data-driven, client-to-cloud networking for large data center, campus, and routing environments, known for relentless innovation in cloud computing, artificial intelligence, and software-defined networking.
REQUIREMENTS:
- BSEE degree required; MSEE degree strongly desired. Solid foundation in electrical engineering required; mechanical aptitude highly desirable.
- 0–5+ years of experience in Hardware, NPI, Sustaining, and/or Test Engineering within Networking, AI, GPU, or Computing industries.
- Expertise in system-level debugging, root cause analysis, and proficiency with lab equipment (oscilloscopes, logic analyzers).
- Knowledge of industry manufacturing standards (IPC, JEDEC) and experience with complex Fab structures (VIPPO, backdrill) and electro/mechanical systems.
- Must be passport ready and able to travel to Mexico, Malaysia, and Vietnam CM sites.
- Deep ability to interpret schematics, board layout files, mechanical drawings, and datasheets to diagnose marginal design issues.
- Ability to read command-line logs and diagnostics to independently navigate early-stage technical hurdles.
- Self-starting mindset with ability to drive improvements in efficiency and customer satisfaction.
- Exceptional collaboration and communication skills with remote and HQ engineers; English fluency required. Spanish and/or Vietnamese fluency desired.
