Salary: USD 145,000 - 180,000 / annual

Arista Networks is seeking a Hardware Failure Analysis Engineer to join their quality and reliability team in Santa Clara, CA. You will work closely with cross-functional teams spanning software, hardware, manufacturing, customer support, and external suppliers to ensure production quality and resolve hardware failures. Key responsibilities include: - Manage and track quality metrics for production units - Identify and resolve quality issues and risks in collaboration with customer support, hardware, software, manufacturing, and supplier teams - Interface with customer support to debug and gather information on failed units deployed at customer sites - Perform failure analysis on failed units in partnership with hardware and software engineering teams - Route failed units to external suppliers when necessary for deeper analysis - Track and close RMA (Return Merchandise Authorization) cases - Generate detailed failure analysis reports - Develop and enhance corrective actions to prevent recurrence This role is ideal for an experienced quality engineer with deep expertise in hardware failure analysis and a track record of working in high-tech manufacturing environments, particularly networking equipment. You will be a key bridge between customer-facing issues and internal engineering teams, driving continuous improvement in product reliability. Requirements: - Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field (Master's degree preferred) - Minimum 10+ years of experience in failure analysis and quality engineering - Demonstrated ability to debug, test systems, and track hardware failure processing for resolution - Experience with PCBA manufacturing, electro-mechanical assembly, and associated processes - Foundational knowledge of quality and reliability performance metrics - Experience in Quality Engineering within high-tech manufacturing, preferably networking equipment, with exposure to contract manufacturing partnerships - Strong cross-functional collaboration skills with engineering teams - Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
