Tive is a supply-chain visibility company that tracks shipments across road, rail, ocean, and air to reduce delays, theft, damage, and spoilage. As a Hardware Engineering - Sustaining engineer, you will own the health and reliability of Tive's in-market hardware fleet.
Key responsibilities include:
**Field-Issue Root Cause Analysis**: Investigate product returns and field failures (e.g., crash-reset loops, brownout conditions, registration failures, latent battery shorts). Drive root-cause analysis to closure with clear findings and traceability.
**Engineering Change Management**: Manage engineering change orders (ECOs), PCB respins, and component substitutions (e.g., converter/regulator swaps, fuel-gauge and charger updates). Maintain revision control and traceability across the deployed fleet.
**Component & Supplier Quality**: Handle end-of-life (EOL) components, second-sourcing decisions, and vendor escalations. Author and drive supplier corrective actions (8D/SCAR) for batch defects, separator issues, and assembly problems.
**Manufacturing Support**: Partner with Luxshare (Kunshan/Vietnam) and US contract manufacturers on production issues, yield analysis, design-for-manufacturability (DFM) feedback, and FATP/SMT line support.
**RMA & Refurbishment**: Own the RMA and refurbishment engineering workflow. Feed field-failure patterns back into design and verification teams to prevent recurrence.
**Cross-Product Triage**: Act as first responder for sustaining issues across all product lines, escalating to product-owning teams only when new design work is required.
This role bridges field reliability, supply-chain quality, and manufacturing operations. You will work closely with product teams, suppliers, and contract manufacturers to keep Tive's hardware fleet performing in the field.
