Meta's Power Systems team is seeking an experienced Hardware Engineer to design and optimize rack-level power solutions for large-scale data center infrastructure. You will define and architect AC/DC and DC/DC power systems that integrate diverse IT equipment while maximizing efficiency and scalability. The role involves close collaboration with cross-functional teams internally and external power vendors throughout the full product development lifecycle, from initial design through manufacturing and field deployment.
Key responsibilities include designing rack-level power architectures, driving product qualification and testing to meet stringent requirements, conducting in-depth design reviews with vendors, and creating comprehensive verification test cases. You will review circuit and PCB designs, validate simulations and calculations, and oversee manufacturing test coverage. The position requires troubleshooting and resolving operational issues in production environments and contributing to the long-term power infrastructure roadmap.
You will work with industry-standard design tools (Cadence, PCad, Mathcad, PSpice, Simetrix/Simplis) and have demonstrated expertise in AC-DC power conversion topologies including active PFC, PWM converters, and resonant converters. Experience with high-power redundant power supply design and successful product delivery to production is essential. You should be comfortable writing design specifications, guidelines, and test plans, and have strong product bring-up and troubleshooting capabilities.
Preferred qualifications include familiarity with rack-level power systems, safety standards and certification processes, DC/DC power system design, digital bus protocols (I2C, PMBus, Modbus, CANbus), and data center power delivery experience.
