Impulse Space is seeking a Guidance, Navigation, and Controls (GNC) Engineer to own all aspects of vehicle GNC across development and operational phases. You will work within a fast-paced, agile team developing robust algorithms for high-performance space vehicles including LEO/GEO satellites, large upper stages, and landers produced at scale. Key responsibilities include implementing GNC flight, test, and analysis systems; developing spacecraft control algorithms; generating GNC verification data for Impulse's mission suite; and participating in both flight code and simulation software development. You will create tools to accelerate flight vehicle GNC systems and enable rapid mission realization. The role involves resolving technical challenges with innovative solutions and communicating design needs and capabilities across the engineering organization. For Senior-level candidates and above, mentoring other engineers and establishing best practices for vehicle GNC is expected. Required qualifications: Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline; 2+ years of experience in spacecraft GNC design and analysis; proficiency in MATLAB and C++; and experience performing control analysis in time and frequency domains, estimation theory, or astrodynamics.
