Anduril Industries, a defense technology company, is seeking a Guidance, Navigation & Control (GNC) Engineer specializing in Navigation and Estimation to join the Flight Engineering department. This role is critical to the development of advanced flight system solutions across multiple domains for military applications.
You will lead navigation system design for one or more Anduril products with cradle-to-grave ownership, taking responsibility from concept through deployment. Key responsibilities include analyzing and developing mission requirements to determine optimal navigation system architectures, supporting the evaluation and integration of advanced alternative navigation aiding sources through lab, motion, and flight tests, and conducting comprehensive flight testing to validate navigation performance against mission requirements.
You will perform extensive trade studies, modeling, and simulation to validate algorithm accuracy, robustness, and performance across subsonic, supersonic, and hypersonic autonomous systems. This includes designing, developing, and integrating inertial navigation systems (INS) for aerospace vehicles including UAS, spacecraft, and missiles. You will develop and refine navigation filters, models, and simulations, and support the development of advanced sensor fusion algorithms leveraging INS, GNSS, cameras, LiDAR, and other sensors for accurate navigation in complex environments.
Additional responsibilities include supporting the development of algorithms for navigation, guidance, and control systems using Extended Kalman filters and other estimation methods in various programming languages, applying covariance analysis techniques for requirements derivation and system optimization, collecting and analyzing platform telemetry data to validate operation and performance, and improving calibration procedures for sensor suites used in aerospace navigation systems.
