Clay is a Series D AI-powered SaaS platform ($7.1B valuation, $115M raised in 2026) that helps B2B companies go to market with data enrichment, workflow automation, and AI agents. The company serves thousands of customers including Anthropic, OpenAI, Google, and Visa. You will be a GTM Engineer focused on elevating top-of-funnel workflows and building automations that generate demand, qualify leads faster, and identify in-market accounts. You'll sit at the intersection of GTM Engineering and Marketing, partnering closely with Demand Gen, Lifecycle, and SDR teams to turn prospect and account data into proactive, measurable action. Key responsibilities include: - Build and own top-of-funnel workflow automations: lead and account scoring, intent and buying-signal detection, inbound enrichment and routing, speed-to-lead triggers, and proactive outbound plays - Partner with Demand Gen, Lifecycle Marketing, and SDR leadership to translate business needs into automation requirements - Own instrumentation behind MQL definitions and the marketing funnel; build insights on conversion, lead stalls, source/campaign performance, and qualification criteria - Build connective tissue between Marketing and SDRs: lifecycle and handoff logic, routing and assignment rules, follow-up SLAs, and feedback loops - Build tooling that surfaces account and prospect context for SDRs at key moments (before first touch, during inbound follow-up, ahead of campaigns) - Push the limits of Clay, extend the platform into new use cases, dogfood new features, and act as a practitioner evangelist - Own projects end-to-end from discovery through rollout, adoption, and iteration; identify opportunities to automate or redesign workflows using AI and data - Design systems that improve speed, visibility, data quality, and execution across the funnel; connect systems through APIs, webhooks, and integrations - Measure performance, adoption, and business impact; iterate based on results - Act as an internal thought partner on the future of AI-native GTM systems Requirements: - 6-10 years in Marketing Ops, RevOps, GTM Engineering, or similar applied technical discipline - At least 3 years in Marketing Ops/Demand Gen Ops or GTM Engineering - Hands-on experience with core systems (Salesforce) and GTM systems including marketing automation platforms (HubSpot, Marketo, Customer.io, Braze) and intent/enrichment layers (6sense, Demandbase, Clearbit, Common Room) - Deep fluency with marketing funnel mechanics: lead lifecycle design, scoring models, routing logic, attribution, deliverability, database health, and funnel metrics - Proven ability to build and problem-solve with Python, JavaScript, SQL, or TypeScript; ability to pull your own data - Track record of deploying and building AI-powered internal tools, automations, or agentic workflows - Experience with data warehouses, BI tools, or event-driven systems - Executive presence: communicate concisely and confidently about technical topics with non-technical stakeholders and business requirements to technical audiences - Proven ability to operate effectively in ambiguous, hypergrowth environments; you drive change, not just embrace it - Highly preferred: experience building in Clay as a primary workflow or enrichment layer (candidates without Clay experience should show increasing proficiency during interviews) - Bonus: analytics engineering, data science, or additional programming language experience
