Clay is a $5B-valued, Series C-funded SaaS platform that helps organizations turn growth ideas into reality through go-to-market data enrichment and workflow automation. The company recently crossed $100M in revenue and serves thousands of customers including Anthropic, Notion, Google, and Ramp.
As GTM Engineering Manager - Seller Efficiency, you'll build and lead a team of 3-5 GTM Engineers responsible for making Clay's sales organization faster, smarter, and more effective. This is a hands-on technical leadership role where you'll remain deeply involved in coding while managing people and strategy.
Key responsibilities include:
- Own core sales workflow systems including book carving, ROE automation, signal detection, and pipeline intelligence—staying hands-on with the hardest technical problems
- Dogfood new Clay features, extend the platform into new use cases, and act as a practitioner-evangelist of Clay infrastructure
- Partner closely with the Head of Sales to translate business problems into elegant technical solutions and build intake/prioritization frameworks
- Hire, manage, and develop a team of GTM Engineers, mentoring them from ticket-takers to strategic problem-solvers who own outcomes
- Establish engineering excellence standards around code quality, documentation, observability, and system governance
- Design and ship scalable systems that surface the right context at the right moment (before QBRs, during renewals, ahead of expansions)
- Measure performance, adoption, and business impact of everything you build, then iterate ruthlessly
- Contribute to strategic conversations about the future of AI-native GTM systems
You'll need 8+ years building revenue systems (RevOps, GTM Engineering, sales systems engineering), strong technical proficiency in Python, JavaScript, SQL, or TypeScript, proven experience shipping AI-powered systems and automations at scale, and 3+ years managing technical teams in hypergrowth environments. You should understand data warehouses, BI tools, ETL/reverse ETL systems, and event-driven architectures.
