Zip is an AI-powered enterprise procurement platform trusted by major enterprises including T-Mobile, OpenAI, AMD, Mars, and Dollar Tree. The company has processed over $500 billion in spend and saved customers over $8 billion. Backed by top-tier investors including Tiger Global, Y Combinator, and others, Zip has raised $371 million at a $2.2 billion valuation.
As a GTM Engineer, you'll join the newly established Business Technology Team to design and build the AI and automation infrastructure powering Zip's sales motion. This is a hybrid role combining GTM operations, hands-on technical building, and automation architecture.
Key responsibilities:
- Build the GTM automation engine using tools like Clay and n8n to create event-based workflows that enrich data, route accounts, and trigger personalized outreach at scale
- Partner with sales leadership to translate business goals (e.g., improving outbound reply rates) into technical projects you propose, build, and own
- Evaluate and implement AI and enrichment tools to boost outbound quality, integrating data from Salesforce, Gong, Clay, and other systems
- Own the full lifecycle: scope workflows with sales leaders, build, pilot with reps, launch, and iterate based on adoption and impact metrics
- Measure and track impact of your builds (rep time saved, pipeline influenced, adoption rates) and iterate or cut what doesn't work
- Pilot new tools, integrations, and AI workflows; understand the vendor landscape well enough to buy versus build
You'll operate with high autonomy across Sales and Marketing Operations, Business Technology, Internal AI, and Sales Leadership teams. This role focuses primarily on the presales motion from BDR through AE, with the goal of making AI part of how every rep works and driving transformational productivity gains.
REQUIREMENTS:
- 4+ years total experience in GTM engineering, sales ops/RevOps, or business systems, ideally in fast-moving B2B SaaS
- Preferred: 1-2 years in seat as a BDR, SDR, AE, sales engineer, or equivalent (understanding day-to-day pipeline pressure)
- Working experience with Salesforce; hands-on experience with Clay (or similar) and Gong (or Chorus) strongly preferred; n8n, Zapier, or workflow orchestration tools a plus
- Comfortable building with AI coding tools (Claude Code or similar) and able to read code and SQL to ship and debug; database and data warehouse experience (e.g., Snowflake) a plus
- Proven ability to learn new systems quickly, apply emerging technologies to solve business challenges, and connect business needs to system design
- Track record of practical AI and automation that helped a sales team move pipeline or save rep time, with quantifiable results
- Build for teams, not just yourself: automations handle edge cases, surface errors, and can be maintained by others; understand when to use LLMs versus deterministic logic
- Excellent written and verbal communication; can structure thinking clearly, write concise memos, and present to executives with confidence
- High bias for action, low ego, ownership mindset; thrive in uncharted territory and move fast to create clarity
