Cartesia is pioneering AI model architectures for real-time audio intelligence, founded by Stanford AI Lab PhDs who invented State Space Models (SSMs). The company is backed by leading investors including Index Ventures, Lightspeed Venture Partners, and others.
You will be the first person dedicated fully to inbound GTM, owning the entire inbound motion from initial contact through qualification and handoff. This is similar to an Inbound SDR or BDR role. You'll be the first conversation for developers, startups, and enterprises reaching out about Cartesia's models, responsible for getting each prospect to the right next step and helping establish how the company qualifies, routes, and hands off leads to Account Executives.
Key responsibilities include:
- Hit quarterly targets for qualified meetings sourced across inbound channels (demo requests, product signups, events, campaigns)
- Respond to inbound requests and high-intent signups within minutes, moving every lead to a clear next step same-day
- Run discovery calls to understand what prospects are building, where voice fits in, and what's driving urgency
- Qualify on use case, scale, timeline, and technical fit; route appropriately to AE handoff with full context, self-serve, partnerships, or nurture tracks
- Identify high-potential accounts in product usage data and reach out proactively; partner with Growth on event, webinar, and campaign follow-up
- Own inbound process end-to-end: qualification, routing, CRM hygiene; bring prospect insights back to GTM and Product leadership
The role requires client-facing experience and a high-velocity work style. You'll manage dozens of conversations simultaneously while maintaining strong attention to detail. The company is in-person based in San Francisco (with offices also in London and Bangalore), and values shipping fast, supporting each other, and maintaining high execution standards.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Minimum 1–2 years of client-facing experience in sales development or equivalent (customer success, account management, client service in consulting/banking/VC, agency-side recruiting)
- Track record of outworking peers (exceeding targets, competing at high level in sports/academics, building side projects)
- Persistence and follow-through; ability to chase down answers and ask direct questions
- High-velocity work style; ability to move quickly through packed days while maintaining detail standards
- Resourcefulness without a playbook; genuine curiosity about AI and developer platforms
- Bachelor's degree with strong academic performance
NICE TO HAVE:
- Prior SDR, BDR, or inbound sales experience
- Hands-on experience with HubSpot, Salesforce, Clay, or similar tools
- Familiarity with voice AI, conversational AI, or developer platforms
