Decagon is a conversational AI platform enabling enterprises like Avis, Block, Chime, and Oura Health to deploy AI agents for customer support and operations. The company is backed by a16z, Accel, Bain Capital Ventures, Coatue, and Index Ventures. As Growth Engineer, you will own the technical surfaces driving Decagon's growth, including the website and growth products that go beyond typical marketing capabilities. You'll treat the website as a product with a real roadmap, balancing growth impact against competing priorities. Key responsibilities include: - Own website strategy, prioritization, and roadmap: decide what gets built, in what order, and why. Build technical foundations for the website and growth surfaces to work across international markets. - Build technical growth products: design and ship tools requiring engineering judgment—personalized landing page builders, interactive voice demos, internal tooling that automates manual work in ad platforms, and AI agents that surface intent signals to the Sales team. - Drive conversion rate optimization: establish testing infrastructure and cadence for structured experiments on the site. - Grow the team: hire and mentor specialists who take on day-to-day ownership of website execution, SEO/AEO, and related functions. - Partner cross-functionally: work with growth/demand gen, product engineering, and regional sales leadership to align technical growth investments with business needs. You bring 5+ years of software engineering experience with growth/marketing exposure and a track record of shipping real technical products. You've owned a company's website or comparable technical growth surface as a product, with accountability for strategy, prioritization, and outcomes. You're comfortable across the full stack—CMS architecture, hands-on product builds (APIs, integrations, AI-powered tooling)—and have strong technical judgment to evaluate and manage specialists. You thrive in ambiguity as the role evolves. Bonus: experience standing up websites across multiple international markets, AI/LLM-powered tooling in growth contexts, or tools like Clay, Webflow, Gumloop, Dust.
