Town is an AI-powered assistant that integrates with your tools to execute real work—triaging inboxes, drafting communications in your voice, managing schedules, and automating workflows. The company operates as a product-led growth (PLG) business where the product itself is the primary growth engine.
As a Growth Engineer, you'll combine product engineering skills with a deep focus on growth metrics and conversion mechanics. Your role bridges engineering and go-to-market, shipping real product features while optimizing for measurable business outcomes. You'll own systems that transform Town's core product into a self-propelling growth engine, working cross-functionally across product, GTM, and business teams.
Key project areas include: (1) Virality and invite flow optimization—making user referrals faster, smoother, and more discoverable through product design and incentive experimentation; (2) Conversion and monetization—tracking and improving the free-to-paid funnel, individual-to-team expansion, and credit economics through instrumentation and A/B testing; (3) Personal-to-team expansion—designing upgrade flows and ensuring smooth team formation; (4) Enterprise readiness—building admin controls, role-based features, and SSO integration to support land-and-expand motions.
You thrive on PLG mechanics, seeing growth as a product-quality problem. You love cross-functional collaboration, obsess over metrics and dashboards, and ship experiments rapidly. You're comfortable with ambiguity, leverage AI-native coding workflows for speed, and are excited about in-person collaboration in San Francisco.
