Salary: USD 130,000 - 180,000 / annual
Play Anything is a music AI lab building products that democratize music learning. Songscription is an AI-powered tool that converts any audio into sheet music, MIDI, or tabs in minutes. Anything Piano teaches users to play any song on piano. The company has raised $5M in seed funding led by Reach Capital and has been featured in TechCrunch, Billboard, and MusicRadar, with hundreds of thousands of musicians using their products.
You will own the technical side of the growth engine, reporting directly to the CEO and CPO. This is a hands-on engineering role focused on building the systems and mechanics that drive user acquisition, activation, retention, and monetization.
Key responsibilities include:
• Business impact & growth model ownership: Own technical growth work that moves core business metrics. Build and maintain a growth model across acquisition, activation, retention, monetization, and referral loops. Prioritize engineering work based on expected impact, define success metrics before shipping, and report results in terms of activated users, organic signups, conversion, retention, revenue, and paid subscriber growth.
• Product-led growth: Build sharing mechanics, referral and UGC programs, in-product conversion flows, and optimize product activation funnels through experimentation.
• Analytics & experimentation: Build growth dashboards, design and run A/B tests, and report on full funnel conversion and retention metrics.
• Lifecycle & retention: Build lifecycle email flows triggered on activation events, milestones, and churn signals. Identify cohort-level drop-off and ship product-side interventions.
• SEO & content infrastructure: Build and maintain technical and programmatic SEO/AEO content and infrastructure.

• Strong coding fundamentals across frontend, backend, and analytics

• Based in San Francisco or willing to relocate
