Quindar is seeking a Ground System Integration Engineer to develop and integrate software Command & Control solutions for satellite vehicles. You will work with customer stakeholders to decompose mission requirements and engineer solutions using existing products, with a primary focus on integrating new satellites and flight software into Quindar's mission management platform.
You will be responsible for:
- Developing and integrating software Command & Control solutions for satellite vehicles
- Working with customer stakeholders to decompose mission requirements and engineer solutions
- Integrating new satellites and flight software into Quindar's mission management platform
- Collaborating with a multidisciplinary team on development and integration of solutions across Quindar's product suite
- Applying deep expertise in low-level software integration with hardware (satellites and other systems)
- Contributing to Quindar's mission of simplifying satellite operations
This is a hybrid role based in Arvada, CO, with 2-3 days in-office and flexible remote work arrangements.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field
- 3+ years of professional experience with satellite command and control systems or similarly complex hardware-software integration efforts
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, C++, or Java
- Experience developing real-time embedded software and/or integrating hardware assets with mission management software
- Deep technical analysis and troubleshooting skills
- Ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance
- ITAR compliance: Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. lawful permanent resident, Refugee, or Asylee, or be eligible to obtain required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experience with satellite communication protocols such as CCSDS, CSP, CFDP, IP and data processing algorithms
- Understanding of standardized command and telemetry definitions such as XTCE and MIB
- Understanding of encryption algorithms such as AES-256 GCM, AES-256 CFB, AES-256 ECB, NSA Type 1 PEGASUS, NSA Type 1 CARIBOU
- Experience with AWS services such as Lambda, ECS, EKS, CloudWatch, S3, EFS/EBS, EC2, and RDS
- Familiarity with Git and GitHub or similar version control frameworks
- Experience with open source software
- Highly adaptable with ability to find creative solutions to unknowns and unforeseen challenges
- Independent self-starter capable of completing projects with minimal guidance
- Strong cross-functional communication skills
