Archer is an aerospace company building all-electric vertical takeoff and landing (eVTOL) aircraft designed to carry four passengers with minimal noise, advancing sustainable air mobility. In this role, you will own the ground support equipment (GSE) for the hybrid powertrain system. Your responsibilities include designing, certifying, testing, and defining operational procedures for all GSE required across the aircraft's powertrain—including electric and liquid refueling systems, cooling, maintenance and repair equipment, hydraulics, exhaust management, and power distribution. You will lead systems engineering efforts related to GSE operations, repair, and maintenance. This includes managing the full design lifecycle, collaborating with manufacturing and operational teams, and presenting designs to stakeholders. You'll work independently on technical initiatives while communicating complex engineering rationale to multidisciplinary teams. Required qualifications: BS/MS/PhD in engineering or related scientific field; 5+ years in ground support equipment or complex systems engineering; strong fundamental knowledge of aviation GSE; proficiency with industry-standard tools and methods; systematic problem-solving approach; and excellent written and verbal communication skills. Nice-to-have experience includes hybrid-electric aircraft, eVTOLs, hybrid automotive powertrains, FAA/EASA certification familiarity, and knowledge of simulation model validation and uncertainty quantification.
