Salary: USD 120,000 - 140,000 / annual

FlixBus is seeking a Government Affairs & Infrastructure Manager to lead market expansion by securing access to critical transportation infrastructure and managing relationships with key government and private stakeholders. This role combines strategic business development with government relations in a highly regulated environment. Key responsibilities include securing high-impact locations for bus stops and stations through government relationships and private-sector negotiation; building and maintaining strategic relationships with government agencies, municipal councils, and regulatory bodies; leading regional strategy to align commercial objectives with government policies while identifying opportunities and mitigating regulatory risks; representing the company in discussions with transportation authorities and media; and preparing materials for hearings and public consultations. You will lead site acquisition efforts, ensuring compliance with zoning, permitting, and safety standards across jurisdictions; develop partnerships with businesses, transit agencies, and property owners to enhance station access and amenities; and serve as the primary contact for station-related and government relations matters, advocating for the company in infrastructure planning forums. The role includes managing up to two direct reports and up to 30% business travel. Required qualifications include a bachelor's degree in Business, Economics, Communications, or related field; 7+ years of experience in business development, strategic partnerships, or real estate development with government entities; demonstrated success securing agreements with government agencies or private stakeholders; 2+ years of project management experience with knowledge of transportation regulations and public transit systems; 1+ years of people management experience or leading cross-functional teams; and strong negotiation, stakeholder management, and policy analysis skills. Excellent writing, communication, and presentation abilities are essential. Familiarity with real estate transactions, land-use planning, and infrastructure development is preferred. Experience with RFPs and grant writing is a plus.
