Form Energy is a climate technology company developing long-duration iron-air battery systems for grid-scale energy storage. The company has secured contracts with leading US utilities and is ramping production at its West Virginia manufacturing facility.
You will own the PCBA (Printed Circuit Board Assembly) and EE (electrical/electronic) component categories for Form's battery systems. This is a strategic sourcing role focused on developing and executing sourcing strategies for complex, system-level components. Your responsibilities include:
- Building and maintaining partnerships with strategic suppliers to support manufacturing scale-up
- Serving as primary contact for supplier negotiations on contracts, pricing, lead times, and escalations
- Driving commercial cost negotiations based on cost models and market analysis to secure best-in-class pricing
- Monitoring market conditions, supplier capacities, competitive landscapes, technology roadmaps, and supply/demand dynamics
- Collaborating with leadership, supply chain, engineering, and strategic supply teams to define and execute sourcing strategy
You will work hybrid from the Berkeley, CA office 4 days per week. Relocation assistance is available. Approximately 30% travel (domestic and international) is required.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Minimum 5 years of strategic sourcing, category management, or equivalent experience in fast-paced, fluid environments
- Deep expertise procuring customized electronic assemblies (PCBAs and EE components) through both distribution channels and direct manufacturer relationships
- Proven track record managing Contract Manufacturers (CMs), including tier 2 materials management, production scaling, supplier KPI tracking, and MSA negotiation
- Fact-based, detail-oriented, data-driven decision-making with strong analytical skills; ability to thrive with ambiguity and incomplete information
- Excellent communication and organizational skills; collaborative, high-energy approach to building relationships
- Domestic and international travel capability (~30%)
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, Finance, or related discipline
