As a Global Operations Associate based in Antwerp, you will be a critical operational hub for Flexport's regional logistics network. Your primary responsibility is ensuring that customer shipments move on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. You will serve as the front line connecting Flexport's account management teams, customs specialists, carriers, terminals, and trucking providers across your region.
Key responsibilities include:
- Managing end-to-end freight movement (imports and exports) within your regional network, including intermodal shipments
- Ensuring all shipments meet internal KPIs and SLAs, independently managing priorities and commitments
- Proactively handling exceptions and maintaining clear, timely communication with clients
- Solving operational issues quickly by developing solutions independently and escalating to senior team members when needed
- Coordinating seamlessly with internal and external partners (carriers, vendors, customs, trade lane management, cross-functional teams)
- Following standard operating procedures while flagging opportunities for improvement
- Using data and operational tools to identify patterns, inform decisions, and drive efficiency gains
- Supporting partner autonomy initiatives and ensuring cost-conscious operations
- Maintaining compliance with regulatory requirements in this heavily regulated industry
You will play a pivotal role in building Flexport's next operational model, helping the company scale globally while improving customer experience and operational efficiency.
Requirements:
- BA/BS degree or completed professional training as a forwarding agent
- 2+ years of experience in operations, logistics, or freight forwarding
- Technology and AI-first mindset; ability to thrive in fast-paced environments
- Strong time management and ability to prioritize large volumes of tasks
- Meticulous attention to detail
- Ability to seek and receive feedback effectively
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Teamwork and relationship-building capabilities
- Orientation toward working smarter and adopting best practices and standardization
