Flexport is a global logistics and freight forwarding platform that moves over $19B of merchandise across 112 countries annually, serving companies from emerging brands to Fortune 500s. This Operations Associate role is critical to Flexport's mission of making global trade easy and accessible.
You will serve as the front-line operations executor for your region, managing the end-to-end movement of freight shipments (both imports and exports) and ensuring all customer shipments are executed on time and within budget. Your direct customers include internal account management and customs teams, as well as external partners such as steamship lines, air carriers, intermodal and drayage vendors, customs brokers, warehousing providers, and trucking companies.
Key responsibilities include:
- Ensuring the highest standard of Flexport quality, with shipments moving on-time and exceptions handled appropriately
- Managing work to satisfy internal KPIs and SLAs that demonstrate quality delivery
- Following standard operating procedures (SOPs)
- Solving client issues quickly and ensuring smooth operations at origin and destination
- Acting in the company's best interest by avoiding cost leakages and maintaining cost-conscious behavior
- Coordinating day-to-day logistics operations seamlessly with internal and external partners
- Executing end-to-end freight movement within a regional network, including intermodal movements
- Assisting shipments managed by partners as the company drives partner autonomy

Requirements:
- BA/BS degree or completed professional training as a forwarding agent
- 1–2+ years of experience in logistics, freight forwarding, supply chain, or air carrier operations (air freight knowledge is a plus)
- Fluent in German and English (other European languages are a plus)
- Ability to adapt to new technology and thrive in a fast-paced environment
- Effective time management and ability to prioritize and manage a large volume of tasks
