Halter is a venture-backed agtech company transforming grazing management through innovative technology that enables farmers and graziers to run more productive and sustainable operations. The company is backed by Tier 1 investors including Founders Fund, Bessemer Venture Partners, BOND, DCVC, and others. As Global Inventory Planner, you will own the end-to-end flow of finished goods (cattle collars) from manufacturing facilities to markets worldwide. This is a commercially critical function that directly impacts customer satisfaction, freight costs, and operational efficiency. Key Responsibilities: - Own the forward view of stock on hand and weeks of supply for every finished goods item across all markets and warehouses, built from factory output, shipments in transit, and sales pipeline data. - Execute against the stock policy, maintaining inventory within target for every item, market, and warehouse; flag early when policy needs revision. - Make strategic decisions on what ships where, when, and how, managing trade-offs between markets during supply constraints or demand shifts. - Own international freight operations from factory to market, including forwarder selection, volume allocation, and mode/route decisions. - Optimize forwarder volume splits to secure competitive pricing and lead times while maintaining provider diversity. - Build strong relationships with forwarder contacts to secure space, expedite shipments, and resolve delays quickly. - Develop trusted reporting on inventory by market/warehouse and freight costs by lane, market, and unit landed cost. - Plan finished goods through product transitions and new market launches to prevent inventory from becoming a bottleneck. - Pick up real projects from day one and deliver them; build the planning rhythm and discipline that make executing to stock policy the norm. This is a hands-on role with room to grow as Halter expands into new markets. Requirements: - Proven inventory planning experience for physical products across multiple markets or warehouses, including managing trade-offs between them. - Strong grasp of weeks of supply, safety stock, inventory targets, and how forecasts and production schedules translate into shipment plans. - Real experience managing international freight forwarders across air and sea; understanding of cost and lead-time levers. - Commercial instinct and ability to use performance data and competition to drive better results from providers. - Sharp analytical skills; fluency with inventory plan data and ability to build custom models and reporting. - Strong ownership and follow-through; meticulous tracking of shipments and positions; ability to close things out. - Clear, direct communication for both senior stakeholder updates and forwarder coordination. - Low ego and comfort with difficult conversations handled with honesty and good judgment on escalation.
