Volta is building a fully vertically integrated AI infrastructure platform, from capital to clusters to software. The company has secured a $10B strategic partnership with a leading frontier AI lab, Series A funding from Andreessen Horowitz, and a $5B AI Infrastructure Fund. With 100+ employees across London, Palo Alto, and New York, Volta is rapidly scaling to hundreds of team members. As Global Electrical Design Manager, you will own electrical design across the entire Volta fleet. You will establish and maintain electrical reference designs that serve as the standard for all projects, ensuring consistency, buildability, and readiness for the extreme power densities required by NVIDIA Vera deployments. Your scope spans from utility intake and medium-voltage distribution through to the rack level. Key responsibilities include: - Owning and evolving electrical reference designs used across all Volta projects - Governing the application of standard designs on each project and managing deviations with discipline - Assuring electrical design quality from utility intake through MV/LV distribution to the rack - Reviewing consultant and contractor electrical deliverables against fleet standards - Supporting power architecture decisions for high-density compute deployments - Collaborating with procurement on specifications for long-lead electrical equipment - Feeding commissioning and operational lessons back into reference designs - Coaching project design leads on electrical standards and best practices You will need deep expertise in data center electrical design, including MV and LV distribution, standby generation, and UPS systems. A proven track record of governing design standards across multiple projects or a fleet is essential. You should be comfortable reviewing and assuring consultant and contractor design work, familiar with high-density compute power demands, and able to work effectively across European and US projects and time zones.
