Greptile is an AI code reviewer that analyzes pull requests to catch bugs and anti-patterns with full codebase context. The company reviews 5 billion lines of code monthly for 22,000+ customers spanning YC startups, big tech, finance, healthcare, and defense. A new repository starts using Greptile every 2 minutes, and the company has scaled to eight-figure ARR with $30M in funding from Benchmark, Y Combinator, and other top investors. As a Generalist Engineer, you'll tackle some of Greptile's hardest technical challenges, including LLM memory optimization, multi-language codebase indexing, semantic search for large codebases, and autonomous code execution for bug detection. You'll design, implement, test, and deploy full features end-to-end, then gather user feedback to iterate and improve. The role emphasizes solving complex problems at scale while working directly with thousands of developers who depend on the product. The team is small and talent-dense, with members who have scaled critical functions at Stripe, Google, Figma, and similar high-growth companies. The company offers self-hosted, air-gapped deployments for enterprises in regulated industries, adding architectural complexity and real-world constraints. Key technical areas include building agents that learn coding standards through context, implementing sample-efficient reinforcement learning to personalize PR feedback, and autonomously deploying feature branches with AI-generated E2E tests to detect bugs. You'll work in-person in San Francisco, surrounded by engineers excited about solving hard problems in a high-growth environment.
