Salary: GBP 89,000 - 115,000 / annual
Taskrabbit is a two-sided marketplace platform that connects people with Taskers for everyday home services including furniture assembly, handyman work, moving help, and more. The company is owned by IKEA and operates across the US and EU with a hybrid work model.
As General Manager for the UK, you will lead the country team and own full P&L responsibility for the UK business. You will drive commercial growth by shaping market strategy, managing revenue and contribution margin targets, and ensuring strong performance on both sides of the marketplace (customer demand and tasker supply).
Key responsibilities include:
- P&L ownership and accountability for net revenue and contribution margin targets
- Developing and executing UK market strategy aligned with core commercial goals
- Managing both customer acquisition and tasker supply health and task fulfillment
- Owning value propositions for both marketplace sides
- Directly managing the UK team covering marketing, partnerships, and tasker operations
- Championing the UK business internally and collaborating cross-functionally to identify growth opportunities
- Developing local go-to-market strategy, including city-specific strategies and localization of Taskrabbit's offering
- Driving local marketing initiatives and channels in partnership with the global marketing team
- Identifying and pursuing external partnership opportunities to grow the UK business
- Some travel within the UK and occasional travel to the US
The role is based in London with hybrid working (2 days per week in central London office).
Requirements:
- 8-10+ years of experience driving commercial growth of a business; experience in marketing, business development, and/or P&L management is a plus
- Demonstrated experience managing cross-functional teams across multiple functions and seniority levels
- Comfort working heavily with data and operating at a fast pace in an entrepreneurial environment; startup experience is a plus, especially with marketplace platforms
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills; comfortable presenting to large groups regularly
- Exceptional ability to balance creative thinking with strong business judgment and analytical skills
- Problem-solving abilities in both data-rich and data-poor environments; ability to engage at both detail and strategic levels
- Natural inclination to take initiative and ownership; ability to independently navigate ambiguous situations and balance multiple priorities
- Nice to have: understanding of two-sided marketplace dynamics, experience working for a global brand
