Tripledot Studios, one of the world's largest independent mobile games companies with 2,500+ employees across 12 studios, is hiring a Game Designer to support Lion Studios' casual puzzle game portfolio. Lion Studios is a mobile games publisher (headquartered in San Francisco) that partners with developers to help games reach top chart positions; since 2018, they've driven 90% of their games to the Top 10 in the App Store and Google Play.
In this role, you will work closely with external development teams based in Turkey, studio managers, and cross-functional stakeholders to design, ideate, and analyze casual puzzle games. You'll contribute across the full game development pipeline, from early concepts through playable builds.
Key responsibilities include:
- Design engaging and challenging core gameplay loops, player experiences, and monetization strategies
- Partner with external Turkish studios throughout new game development, from concept to launch
- Design new mechanics that enhance depth and progression while maintaining design coherence
- Evaluate player data, identify trends, and optimize level funnels for retention and monetization
- Collaborate cross-functionally with developers to align with product goals
- Monitor top-performing games to understand market trends and extract competitive insights
You should be a versatile game design generalist with strong level design skills, comfortable building relationships across multiple teams, and able to balance creative judgment with data-informed decision-making.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Minimum 3+ years of professional experience as a game designer or in a similar field
- Demonstrated ability to contribute across mechanics, systems, progression, and player experience
- Confidence using data and player insights to identify design problems and recommend solutions
- Strong creative and problem-solving skills with effective cross-functional communication
- Advanced analytical skills; ability to spot patterns and trends
- Experience with level balancing and funnel optimization
- Fluency in Turkish and ability to communicate effectively with Turkish-speaking studio teams (required)
DESIRED SKILLS:
- Game design experience as a publisher in puzzle genres
- Experience with liveops, A/B testing, or data-informed iteration cycles
- Familiarity with Figma or similar visual collaboration software
- Proficiency with AI tools for generating early prototypes
- Track record of publishing or working on successful hypercasual, casual, or AAA titles
