Neo Financial is seeking elite Staff and Principal Engineers to join their rapidly scaling fintech platform. As one of Canada's fastest-growing companies (Deloitte Technology Fast 50 three-peat winner, #1 fastest-growing company in Canada 2024), Neo has built a full-stack banking platform including credit cards, savings accounts, mortgages, personal loans, and cash back rewards—shipped at a pace most financial institutions cannot match in a decade. In this role, you will own meaningful pieces of Neo's financial infrastructure end-to-end: architecture, implementation, testing, and production stability. You are an elite individual contributor who shapes how systems are built, not just contributes to them. You treat modern AI tooling as essential, deploy meaningful improvements daily, and combine strong fundamentals with aggressive use of contemporary development practices. You write automated tests as a matter of course, own your production systems, and handle on-call as a natural extension of ownership. You elevate the team around you through code reviews that catch architectural flaws and security risks, deliberate pairing, clear documentation, and autonomous decision-making that keeps momentum high. Neo's platform handles real financial transactions across banking, credit, lending, and rewards. Engineering challenges span distributed systems, real-time data, payments infrastructure, fraud detection, and compliance. The company operates on modern cloud infrastructure with a microservices architecture; teams move fast and own their domains end-to-end with no handoff culture. Ideal candidates have built and scaled systems handling meaningful transaction volume or data throughput, worked in financial services or regulated industries where correctness is non-negotiable, and had primary technical ownership shaping architecture. Tech stack is not a filter; you operate across the full stack from front-end to back-end APIs and infrastructure. Neo has 500+ employees, 1M+ customers, and 10K+ retail partners. The company emphasizes ownership, trust, and collaboration across Calgary, Winnipeg, and Toronto offices. Select roles include equity participation. This is for builders and problem-solvers who thrive on challenge and want to operate at the edge of their capability.
