Salary: USD 90,000 - 110,000 / annual

Allocate is building an operating system for private markets, enabling wealth advisors and their clients to access, transact in, and manage private market investments. The platform supports 350+ advisory firms, 1,500+ GP relationships, and $5B+ in assets. Atlas Fund Services, the fund administration business unit, runs operations for private market funds and feeder vehicles. As a Fund Accountant, you will own day-to-day operations for a portfolio of funds end-to-end, including fund accounting, capital calls and distributions, investor allocations, financial statements, and audit support. Key responsibilities: - Own day-to-day fund operations across financial accounting, capital calls/distributions, investor and financial reporting, and cash management - Prepare and review quarterly and annual financial statements, capital account statements, and investor-level allocations - Interpret fund legal documents (LPAs, subscription documents, side letters) and apply economic terms to allocations, waterfalls, and fee calculations - Partner with external service providers (banking, legal, audit, tax) to create seamless investor and fund sponsor experiences - Work actively with software development teams to scope, test, and implement automation and efficiency improvements - Support other Allocate teams on fundraising, diligence, and investor relations processes - Lead special projects aligned with your interests and Allocate's strategic priorities - Contribute to compliance policies and process documentation Success metrics include: on-schedule capital calls/distributions/statements without rework; quarterly/annual reporting on deadline with clean audits; quick resolution of investor/advisor inquiries; automating at least one manual workflow per quarter; becoming the trusted owner of a defined fund set within two quarters. The ideal candidate has spent time at a fund administrator, venture capital or private equity fund, or finance-oriented professional services role, with familiarity with fund accounting concepts and private markets reporting requirements. You will work directly with banking, legal, audit, and tax partners, and closely with product and engineering teams to shape the software that runs the work. REQUIREMENTS: - 2–3+ years of experience in fund administration, private markets (VC/PE), fintech, or finance-oriented professional services with proven operations and project management skills - Familiarity with fund accounting and administration concepts in private markets and applicable reporting requirements - Experience working within a regulated and supervised industry - Robust analytical skills across quantitative and qualitative metrics - Exemplary oral and written communication skills - Ability and willingness to lead and manage complex initiatives and tasks - Dedication to Allocate's mission NICE TO HAVE: - CPA or CFA, or meaningful progress toward either - Public accounting experience in alternative investments or financial services practice - Hands-on experience with fund accounting platforms or platform migrations - Comfort using SQL, advanced Excel, or AI-assisted tools for analysis and reporting
