Proton is building an AI operating system for wholesale distribution, unifying CRM, product information management, eCommerce AI, and order/quote entry into a single platform. The $9 trillion distribution industry relies on legacy software; Proton replaces fragmented tools with one unified data layer and AI brain, enabling sales reps to focus on customer relationships rather than data entry. Customers report 3x profit return per dollar spent and an extra sales day per rep per month.
You'll own end-to-end feature delivery across the CRM platform, working across frontend (Vue/TypeScript), backend (Python), databases (PostgreSQL), data pipelines (Airflow), and ERP integrations. This is a generalist role: you move fluidly across the stack based on user impact, not siloed specialization.
The defining characteristic of this role is AI-native development. You'll operate Claude Code and similar agentic tools as first-class collaborators—structuring context, running agents in parallel, validating output, and making judgment calls AI cannot. You're expected to already work this way daily, using AI to amplify your seniority, not replace it. Strong fundamentals are non-negotiable: you understand code execution, can reason about query plans, debug race conditions, and recognize when an agent is wrong.
You'll collaborate in a squad model with PMs, designers, and engineers in 2-week sprints. A few times per year, you'll travel to customer sites—warehouses and sales floors—to support onboarding, troubleshoot integrations, and gather product insights directly from distributors (industrial, HVAC, electrical, and others).
Proton is backed by Felicis Ventures (Twitch, Shopify, Opendoor) and Battery Ventures. The company hires people with high agency and urgency who own problems end-to-end and ship faster than peers.
