ClearScore is seeking an experienced Fullstack Frontend Engineer to join their agile delivery team in Cape Town. The role focuses on building full-stack solutions using Node.js and TypeScript, with primary emphasis on server-side development and occasional client-side work. You will design, build, and maintain data-driven user interfaces and backend services that serve millions of users across the UK and South Africa.
Key responsibilities include designing and implementing full-stack solutions using Node.js, TypeScript, and React; building intuitive client UX with design systems and server-driven UI frameworks; optimizing and scaling databases using SQL and PostgreSQL; collaborating with colleagues on real-time data pipelines using Kafka; leading deployment and maintenance of production-grade code across global markets; monitoring post-release performance; and mentoring team members while fostering continuous improvement.
Required skills include strong JavaScript and TypeScript proficiency, React expertise, experience with SSR frameworks (Remix or Next.js), Node.js service development (Fastify or Express.js), Agile Scrum experience, unit and functional testing (Jest, React Testing Library), build tools (Webpack, RollUp), AWS and Docker familiarity, and CI/CD tooling knowledge (Jenkins, Circle CI). You should have experience leading large projects with multiple engineers and a collaborative mindset with strong knowledge-sharing impulses.
